Obtain a restraining order
In California, a minor who as least 12 years old may obtain a temporary restraining order without a guardian. Cal. Code Civ. Proc. § 372. The emergency order may be obtained from law enforcement and lasts for up to five days. Cal Fam Code 6256. In the interim, a court can order a permanent order of protection, which can be last for up to 5 years. Cal Fam. Code 6345. Getting an order is free. Cal Fam Code 6222.
